Overview
Inteconnex completed the implementation of a centrally managed video surveillance system for the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), replacing their legacy CCTV system. Since the completion of the conversion, Inteconnex has overseen the expansion of the system to twice its original size allowing UNMC the flexibility and scalability to meet their changing security needs.

Centrally Managed Surveillance System
Inteconnex implemented a Vicon enterprise video surveillance solution for UNMC that is centrally managed resulting in an integrated surveillance system for its multiple locations. Inteconnex leveraged existing security investments to design a hybrid IP, megapixel and analog system that can grow with UNMC—all centrally controlled via software-based management.

Hybrid Surveillance Coverage Plan
Inteconnex designed and implemented a hybrid surveillance coverage plan for UNMC combining analog & IP utilization. This cost-effective approach reused existing cameras to leverage UNMC’s past equipment investments and repositioned and added cameras to obtain better coverage.
This tailored system resulted in:
- A higher level of security for UNMC
- Increased flexibility by utilizing IP technology to improve camera placement
